Visiting Pennsylvania

What GREAT time I had with friends and family in PA! I had not been back in 7 years and what a difference all that time makes. I did not get to see everyone I wanted to or go to all the places I had hoped to see, but how much can you fit in one week and that is the time I had.

Ironically enough I actually had a hard time remembering where everything was and it would come back to me in stages as I drove. I got to show my girls where I grew up, went to school and used to live. I got to get a picture of one of my best friends Kristen and I in front of the pre-school where we met. She also threw me a huge welcome home party where I got to see friends from High School I had not seen since 1991..yes it has been a while.  It was awesome to see how much people have accomplished and how far everyone has come. It was also nice to see all their new houses as well as some new additions to their families.

Seeing my Grandmother was great but it was difficult since my Grandfather passed away May 2. Being in the house I spent most of my childhood in without Poppo was hard. I miss him so much. The only thing I asked for of his was a t-shirt that still smells like him but my Grandmother washes everything so fast that was difficult but ironically it was my daughter that found the shirt. My Poppo was a great man and he and my Grandmother were married 69 years – how long they were married is longer than some people live. He was 94 and so is my Grandmother. People in my family generally live a long time – I just hope I don’t get bored..

12 years ago I had taken a picture of a good friend of mine Jen being dipped over by a young gentleman at a Club that used to be called Wanda’s. Ironically Jen discovered (through that 12 year old picture that she just so happened to find while I was still there last week) that same young man she is dating now 12 years later is the same young man in the picture from 12 years ago. He just moved back from Colorado. They have been dating for three months and never knew it.  So, I just so happened to be back in Pa after a 7 year leave and I took a picture of the two of them again in the same pose with the same camera I used 12 years ago. Strangely, things like that happen to me all the time.  More on that later.

Also, on Thursday while I was at my Grandmothers for the first time in 7 years, surrounded by the majority of my family at the same time, I received a phone call from my Producer Charlie Craig telling me that RCA has heard my songs and seen my website and would like to meet me..wow.

Ok, maybe I should leave town more often..

Hello all! :)

I leave for Pennsylvania soon to go visit my family!! I cannot wait to see everyone – I have not seen some of them in almost 7 years now. It is going to be a LONG 17 hour drive but it is worth it. I am sure me and the girls will find things to sing to; plus I packed little hand-held video games and books for them. I have the cooler packed with food so hopefully we will not have to stop as much as well. I must finish packing and I will see you all again after my trip on the 1st! :) Have a great week everyone!!

Rebecca takes the cover for June Indie Islands

Just to update everyone, I was on the June cover for the Indie Islands magazine! It was a great honor to be interviewed by them a few months ago and then also to be asked to be on the cover as well. I have also been asked to sing the National Anthem again at the Turkey Creek Stables in Plant City, FL for the Labor Day weekend. I am driving up to Pa from FL to visit my family over July 21-29, so that will be a long drive as well as a much-needed vacation! I hope everyone out there is doing well and I shall post more later….

Love,

Rebecca

Headlights on the Highway

Hello everyone!

The webstore is up and available at rebeccalindsey.net! At the webstore you can purchase everything from t-shirts, to bags and other accessories. http://www.cafepress.com/rebeccalindsey

The album, “Headlights on the Highway” has been mixed and mastered and will be pitched within the next few weeks to the major Record Labels. It should also be available to purchase at the online store through rebeccalindsey.net within the next few weeks. Without the hard work of my Engineer Chris Latham and Producer Charlie Craig as well as Attorney and Sponsor, William Graham and his Wife, this album would not have been possible. I would like to publicly thank all four of them for making this dream a reality. I have to admit I was speechless when I heard the album – it is more than I could have hoped for.

Please join and forward your newsletter onto to friends and family! Go to http://rebeccalindsey.net/newsletter/ to join the free monthly newsletter! :)

All my love,

Rebecca

Rebecca in the Studio

Went up to Nashville to record the album. It turned out even better than I could have hoped for. I sang for 20 hours two days in a row (10 hours the first day, 10 hours the next). The songs should be mixed and mastered by the end of this week!
